Students finished taking their #8 continental drift and plate tectonics notes. Students learned about magnetic reversals and then started their #9 Earth Layers Notes

wed 9/19 - teacher workday - no school
tues 9/18
Students took notes on #8 Continental Drift and Plate Tectonics Notes. For homework students we assigned a Wegener Cut and Paste activity. Students have to label the landmasses, color the fossils according to the key, and piece them into one giant landmass. Following this, it needs to be glued on a sheet of paper and on the back they must write a 5 sentence paragraph explaining how the landmass supports continental drift, or why they think scientist would reject it.

students took their first Greek and Latin Stem quiz. Following this we went over the answers and completed a #7 Soap Lab. If students didn't finish the lab, then it is homework.
thurs 9/6
In class today students continued taking density notes and learned how to determine if an object will float or sink in pure water. Following this, students learned how to calculate density using a density triangle and we ended class by completing an Keely Probe Exit ticket. Please see powerpoint under yesterdays notes.
wed 9/5
In class today we went over the bubble lab from yesterday and then started notes on #6 Density notes. Most classes stopped around slide 9. We will resume tomorrow.
